They say no good deed goes unpunished and sadly that is the
truth in the world of the whistleblower. The theory on 'whistle
blowing' is that the individual is helping the community, and
following their ethics, by reporting the offending person or
company. The risk of recrimination is very high and usually
results in a long and difficult fight for the whistleblower.
This battle will likely including legal threats and character
assassination.
So what can you do to protect yourself when you do ...

At the dinner table, I leaned over and whispered urgently to
Kate, our host, "Smells like something burning." A bit startled,
she got up and went into the kitchen to check. At her sudden
departure, the conversation around the table fell silent.
As we waited, she returned and announced, "Everything seems to
be all right." Things went back to normal. We were having a good
time. The food was delicious and the conversation lively. It was
Kate's husband Alex's birthday party.

1.'What do you mean, you hate to travel?'
Have you and your spouse actually sat down and discussed how
each of you envisions retirement? If your dreams are completely
opposite of your spouse's, both of you are going to be
disappointed. Honestly talk about them before you get the gold
watch. Be creative and open to compromise, so both of your
dreams can come true.
2.'You mean, you're here ALL the time, now?'
Spending all this quality time together may seem like a

FHM MAGAZINE
FHM, an abbreviation for: For Him Magazine is a quite
successful monthly men's magazine (also known as a lads' mag)
that was first published as FHM in 1994 in the United Kingdom,
but it has actually been around since 1985 under the name for

distributed through high street men's fashion outlets and
expanded to newsagents as a quarterly publication by the spring
of 1987. For him had most recently hardened up its ...

You all may remember this famous headline which appeared on
thousands of Internet sites, news outlets, and in the News of
the Weird sections of local newspapers. This type of story
gained momentum after Andrew Fischer of Omaha Nebraska auctioned
his forehead on eBay for 30 days of temporary advertising. He
was paid $37,375 in the end. Now after laughing a bit from the
absurdity of it all, it dawned on me that there must be some
underlying need in the advertising community for ...

This is the third article of a three-part series. I'm
illustrating the marketing challenges of PrescottWeddings.com, a
small business.
If you don't remember anything else about marketing, remember
this: Frequency is king.
The more often you can get your name in front of your potential
and current customers, the more likely you will make a sale.
Depending on what study you look at, people need to see your
message anywhere from three to 27 times before they act upon it.
And, if you want to brand ...

Everyone knows that advertising is essential to growing a
business. One problem that small business owners have always
faced is the high cost of marketing. Most, however don't realize
that there is an effective way to reduce the cost of your
advertising while - at the same time - increasing its reach.
Advertising co-ops are nothing new. Usually they are a "perk"
offered by major manufacturers to encourage retailers to promote
their products. Because the retailer has direct access to
customers ...
